I am dead set against bringing a legacy energy substance like coal in to tarnish Port Alberni's slowly improving reputation.

The use of coal-fired ovens near the harbour created a very dirty town for decades, and now is the time for moving forward.

I am a retired consultant and many, like myself, would enjoy living in Port Alberni, especially in these times of rising costs, but not if there is a coal industry on our waterfront.

This would ruin any chances for Port Alberni to move forward with alternative energy and better residential and tourism potential.
