Campbell Conner (left) and John Snyder (right) of CoalWatch Comox Valley received the Council of Canadians’ community action award at a Thursday night dinner. Gwyn Frayne (center), chair of the local chapter of the Council of Canadians, praised CoalWatch for its efforts to ensure the community, the environment, and the Baynes Sound shellfish industry are not harmed by a massive underground coal mine proposed for the region.
