Fanny Bay, February12, 2012
On behalf of the officers and directors of CoalWatch Comox Valley Society, I’d like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone involved in making last night’s sold out fundraising dinner a huge success. The support from the community as a whole was really heart warming.
I’d like to thank the following sponsors who helped make this event possible:
Gerald Richardson – Comox Valley Design
Island Tides
Sean Frank of the K’omoks First Nation,
along with Joey and Wes, in providing the geoduck.
Macs Oysters
Fanny Bay Oysters
Baynes Sound Oysters
Pentlatch Seafoods
Stellar Bay Shellfish
Hollie Wood Oysters
Fanny Bay Community Association
It takes a lot of volunteers to make a fundraising event like this a success. Indeed, this was a collaborative community effort. I would like to recognize the core organizers who worked many hours in preparation for the dinner: Fiona and Nick Mackey; Jeanette Reinhardt; and Greg and Holly Wood. Dawn McRae of Custom Gourmet, along with her staff and the volunteers who helped serve the delicious food deserve a huge thank you.
The many donations of items for the silent and live auctions, along with the generous bidding for those auction items surpassed our wildest expectations. THANK YOU.
2012 will be a very busy year for CoalWatch. With the generous support of the community, CoalWatch will continue to stay fully engaged in the Raven Coal Mine issue, and be a strong advocate for public participation and education on this important issue.
With all my heartfelt thanks,
John Snyder
President
